The power of partnerships.

Something that’s really come to light for me lately is the power of partnerships.

As a marketer, communication and relationship-building are integral for the job. We’re constantly engaging with a wide mix of people - internal teams, external stakeholders, sponsors, media partners, designers. The list goes on.

It’s one thing to manage those relationships well and deliver good outcomes. But the real magic? It happens when those relationships evolve into true partnerships. The kind where your partner feels like an extension of your team.

So how does that happen?

In my experience, it all comes down to two things: communication and connection.

Like any relationship, brand partnerships take time to grow. They require intention, consistency, and open lines of communication. These are the things that build trust, and trust isn’t built in a virtual meeting or over email. It’s earned over time.

The strongest partnerships I’ve developed weren’t transactional. They were grounded in shared goals, mutual values, and a genuine desire to achieve win-wins. And that doesn’t just show up in campaign results. It shows up in the way teams collaborate, problem solve, and support each other, even when things are challenging.

I believe in building partnerships, not just managing stakeholders. Because when the connection is genuine, the impact is bigger. The outcomes are better. And the wins are shared.

I’d love to hear your take on partnerships. What’s your experience been?
